Maaan, classic demo effects are coming back! Very nice. Just wish there was a way to get rid of th e bilinear filtering on everything...
Reply to this commentI hear you :)
Reply to this commentI must say I'm a huge fan, and this is very lovely. After reading the comments, i must say i am impressed by Opera over Chrome, I am getting about 25 frames compared to chrome's 19
Reply to this commentI don't like it.
Reply to this commentIt's like an adventure in a tunnel
Reply to this commenthow nice!!!
Reply to this commentAwesome! +1 for web based apps :D
Reply to this commentI get between 17-29 FPS on Chrome depending on the type of plane deformation.
Reply to this commentVery nice.. but.. 19 fps on a core i7? hm..
Reply to this commentYeeeessss.... is very good
Reply to this commentNo show on Safari 5.
Reply to this commentmuy bueno
Reply to this commentExcellent, tech-wise... Otherwise, disturbing, a collection of backdrops for your worst nightmares...
Reply to this commentim speechless!
Reply to this commentUm... this could just be a stupid question.... But those looked like the animations on Windows Media Player that you can get, so whats the diff between them?
Reply to this commentUm... this could just be a stupid answer... The difference is that one runs in a Window-only Application, and this one runs on the web, in every modern browser.
Reply to this commentGreat job on the FPS counter! As I suspected, on my machine Opera 10.6 is running faster than the latest Dev release of Chrome (6.0.453.1).
On the 'tunnel' deformation, chrome is getting 19fps and Opera is getting 25fps! Quite a difference.
Thanks for adding the fps counter. It's great.
Reply to this commentFirefox 4 is the winner in my system. With Chrome I get about 25fps. Firefox 4 is getting 75fps.
Go browsers go!
Reply to this commenti like looking at the tunnel when im high. i feel like im the captain of the microship going down someone's intestines
Reply to this commentA-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
Really like the tunnel effect.
Reply to this commentIn Opera 10.6 Beta the performance of this experiment is AMAZING. I'm surprised that it's running faster than a very recent dev release of chrome on my computer.
However, as in firefox, it seems that the colours at the edge become distorted. Perhaps a difference in the way that floating point values are handled between browsers?
Reply to this commentYeah, that's a bit of laziness from my side. Colours are going > 255. Easy to fix, but need to see how much affects performance, you know...
Reply to this commentUnderstood, and the experiment is perfect for this venue, so a fix is IMO overkill.
The latest dev release of chrome (6.0.447.0 dev) shows a massive speedup of this demo! Very impressive indeed.
The wormhole really reminded me of a show called 'Doctor Who'. He is a guy who has a blue police box thats bigger on the inside and is called a tardis (time and relative demensions in space).
Reply to this commentYes, I think we all know who Dr Who is :P
Reply to this commentI don't! Well, at least I have never seen an episode. I know who did the original opening music tho :)
Well that's quite amazing in itself! :L
Very nice effects, great work once again Mr Doob ;) Maybe different colour variations or less pixillation would give that extra sprinkle of perfection...
Very nice all the same :) x

Reply to this commentReally nice, mesmerizing effects! Might make a nice screensaver... The wormhole one could travel a little faster.
Reply to this commentDone!
Reply to this commentSuprisingly, this one works MUCH faster in Firefox 3.6.3.
Reply to this commentThis site is about Chrome, not firefox thankyou...
Reply to this commentThat doesn't mean that he can't make such comments. It's good to know, although that's not the case on my system. Chrome still wins.
Wow!
Reply to this commentFirst Again!, This is really Cool!
