Launch Experiment
Slow? Not Working? Try it in Google Chrome.
Hey! We highly recommend you launch this experiment in Google Chrome. It may run slower, or not at all, in other browsers.
Okay, I'll download Google Chrome I'm willing to risk it

Reply to this commentExtremely well designed game, beautifully (if not somewhat comically) done. I wouldn't mind a full version =cD.

Reply to this commentDUDE THIS LOOKS COOL BUT I HAVE A CRAPPY CONEXION. Could you help me with that problem please?
Reply to this commentOk it is very fun and I'm glad to see the security is fixed but if you hold down the space bar it freezes. Please fix if possible. Great job otherwise.
Reply to this commentThanks for the feedback. I've just made a quick change to control the release of lasers being fired when the space bar is held down ~ hope that minimises any freezing.
Reply to this commentOK if the spacebar causes your game to freeze hit pause twice. It will fix itself. A very cool game!
Reply to this commentThis is a very clever design, but it has some shortcomings that make it feel unfinished and in need of work.
The first is the length of the game. I like games that I can complete as easily as this, but I don't want to be going "That was it?" when I reach the end. If you expanded this to two or three levels—or even just made the first one longer—it would have been a much more satisfying experience.
I also encountered one rather annoying bug during gameplay. When I held down the side arrow keys, instead of fluid movement, the... mail? ... would not move sideways, but would wait for me to release the button and then compensate by going far to the right. So to move back and forth fluidly, I had to focus on a tap-tap-tap rhythm and movement became more difficult than actually hitting or dodging the targets. Such a distraction is unnecessary and could be easily fixed.
Thanks for programming, and keep at it!
Reply to this commentI liked that feature of not moving while pressing it down. Gave a strange play but it was rather nice. So don't change it.
Reply to this commentActually, I thought that this feature was great, otherwise the game would be too easy for me. Maybe for casual players it would be annoying but for someone who plays games all the time I think it was great, maybe an option to toggle it would be necessary. I agree that the game is too short though.
Reply to this commentlevel 2 can add a little fish to represent phishing and the boss for the second level can be a giant fishing pole with emails on it
It IS a cool idea, but considering this is an experiment on a new format, I'd rather see it prove the concept. As it stands, I'm left wondering if it was intentional (but not mentioned for some reason), a mistake of the creator, or a shortcoming of the platform. And since this is a site all about the platform...well...
True, it does make it a slight bit more challenging.
The author could have mentioned it at the very least. I was wondering why I couldn't move.
Addictive.

Reply to this commentHi, thanks for letting me know about the warning ~ I think this may be caused by something in my Wordpress install rather than the game itself ~ I'm looking into it.
Reply to this commentAnd Avast also reports a trojan download when I load the game, but it seems like it's just some java thing. Could be wrong.
Hi, apparently there was a vulnerability in the most recent version of WordPress which made it susceptible to malware. I've taken the necessary steps to eliminate this on the blog and diagnostics has confirmed it has cleared up ~ I'm very sorry if this caused any alarms and I really appreciate the comments which helped identify it.
To clarify, sometimes the game will freeze when you destroy an enemy while holding space.
Reply to this commentThe exploit warning isn't legit (at least not anymore). However two issues when holding down the fire button:
1) When an enemy's destroyed, sometimes an enemy which hasn't contacted a laser will also get destroyed.
2) Sometimes the game will freeze
Reply to this commentNot a terrible start. I like the Gmail joke and the animations, but movement doesn't feel responsive, which can be frustrating when waves of fast moving enemies are coming at you.
A minor gripe I have is that the 2nd and 3rd phases of the boss battle feel anticlimactic, because the boss has no attacks during this phase.
Reply to this commentThis experiment crashes WXPSP3 on Chrome 5.0.375.125
Reply to this commentWorks fine on Chrome 6. It still doesn't move or shoot if you hold the buttons down, but it would be way too easy if it moved effortlessly.
Reply to this commentChrome says that this has an exploit in its javascript leading to an unsafe site. Not sure if this is legit or not, but not willing to risk it
Reply to this commentYay first comment. Great game!
