Launch Experiment
Slow? Not Working? Try it in Google Chrome.
Hey! We highly recommend you launch this experiment in Google Chrome. It may run slower, or not at all, in other browsers.
Okay, I'll download Google Chrome I'm willing to risk it

Reply to this commentI really love this game! But I think it could be improved. It would be nice with more elements, interactive objects and full screen.
Reply to this commentreply to me if you think it should be full screen
Reply to this commentyes
Reply to this commentUno de los mas entretenidos, fascinantes, impresionantes e ingeniosos de todos los ''experimentos'' de Google, me gusta mucho, se los recomiendo a todos.
Reply to this commentnice should have tone9like solid only notflamable.
Reply to this commentsorry typo Stone like *
Reply to this commentale fajne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply to this commentHey do you think it would be possible to create interactive objects in the thing? you know like boats to burn
Reply to this commentLooovee it !! very entertaining! Keep the update!
Reply to this commentWell, this experiment is very cool and I enjoyed it a lot, but there are a few glitches, which I have patched. The comment system doesn't allow me to post URLs somehow, so I will reply anyone who'll drop me an email (especially the author).
Reply to this commentOkay. Check http://files.whitequark.org/dots/
Reply to this commentforgot to post the email: whitequark@whitequark.org ;)
Reply to this commentYea powder game is sooooo much better
Reply to this commentum.....fire can't fall.....unless its burning on something and that something falls......................
Reply to this commenti drawed titanic ang put waer in her :D
Reply to this commentlol
Reply to this commenti cnad splel ether. yayy ztoopid peepls.
Reply to this commentI noticed that if you set a single pixel of oil alight, it duplicates into many pixels of oil. Thus violating the law of conservation of mass. Fun game though :)
Reply to this commentVery interesting! But it is possible to create a mountain of water in the game (Element=water, size=large, pressing the left mouse button and then moving the mouse heavily over some "land")... This seems a little counter-intuitive... Maybe it needs some adjustments in the viscosity of the water. :o)
Reply to this commentsame with oil
Reply to this commentOMG I LOVE THIS GAME! Thanks f or SHARING!
Reply to this commenti want to try it with people in it like with dust
Reply to this commentThis is so addicting, i played it for 3 hours and counting *_*
Reply to this commentOMG! YOU MUST BE SEEING THINGS CONSTANTLY WAVING AND SEEING SPIRALS AND CIRCLES AND LINES AND STUFF! WOW
Reply to this commentRANDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am certainly glad I don't know you. Wait, now I do. DOH!
this is a lot like the powder game. if you liked this, google powder game and click the first link
Reply to this commentThe powder game is so much better, I was thinking that the entire time while I played this
Great, really owesome! But this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communicating_vessels Doesn't work(( http://omploader.org/vNHIwdg/vessels.png
Reply to this commentI'd say those copied the concept off Dust - http://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/
but a good experiment nonetheless
Reply to this commentthank you so much for posting that link now dust is all i play!
Reply to this commentThis is a rip-off of Powder Toy! http://www.geeks3d.com/20091109/download-the-powder-toy-physics-game/
See?
Reply to this commentPowder Game is older, I believe.
http://www.dan-ball.jp/
Reply to this commentthis is the same as the sand game just more pixilated
Reply to this commentSooo Addictive....
Reply to this commentWater don't act like real water, it don't obey Communicating vessels law
Reply to this commentI agree. ^_^
Reply to this commentLol. The guy who made this copied it from an old game.
Reply to this commentwow! its really cool that you got this working in just javascript! is this open source?
Reply to this commentALL JAVASCRIPT IS OPEN SOURCE YOU NINNY!!!!!!
Reply to this commentthis is a bit like the powder game, only less advanced http://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/
Reply to this commentthanks !! i loved that game
Reply to this commentI've tried those games and man are they awsome! and they have more elements that this one
Reply to this commenti think it's great... however, fire burning oil means the oil should burn away at some rate. also, i tried to create an inverted pocket to catch the steam... it would be nice if the steam would condense and drop water. ta-da!
Reply to this commentI like it, but it seems a bit of a copy of a game I used to play called Falling Sand. Just saying!
Reply to this commentFun experiment, definitely a good start. Good job!
Reply to this commentone problem I found - pressure doesn't work correctly - to explain what I mean, look at this screenshot: http://omploader.org/vNDg0cQ . In real life, the cavities should fill too.
Otherwise, fun, and definitely a winner for time-wasting ;)
Reply to this commentrefering to the screenshot/ it would do that in real life beacuse it creates a pocket of air if you made a passage that extended above the level of matter then i should fill up that gap
Reply to this commentit is every good to learn more about technology
Reply to this commentThe top left of the solid is being created when you click. instead should the solid be created at the middle of your mouse?
Reply to this commentman i wish there was a bigger eassaer and and large and small land thing but i love it!!!
Reply to this commentThis is awesome! I love this game!
Reply to this commentpowder is waaay better
Reply to this commenti agree.
Reply to this commentthis is based on falling sand game
Reply to this commentHoly crap! I'm been playing this one for about 3 hours at a time, and the only reason I stop is because my parents yell at me till they're blue!!! :P
Reply to this commentlol my parents are the same
Reply to this commentthis is exsactly like hell of falling sand
Reply to this commentpyro sand is similar and better
Reply to this commentnice to see the kill fire button :)
Reply to this commentis like pyro sand or falling sand
Reply to this commentDefinitely a good start, you probably can get some better performance and hence can managed even more dots if you use canvas pixel manipulation to draw them instead of rectangles. Can't wait to see how you improve and expand this experiment!
Reply to this commentFollow the laws of physics for once !
Reply to this commentreminds me of the powdetoy
Reply to this commentThe fire still runs even when you suffocate it in solid... impossible.
Reply to this commentfun as this may be. Dan ball powder game is much better, but for a civilian designing this it is awesome.
Reply to this commenti have seen a lot of these, and while most of them are better than this, they are all equally fun. you can just search powder game on google and find a really good one.
Reply to this commentyeh, speaking of vgxmaster's comment, there is a program very similar (but much more complex) version of this, here's the link: http://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/
Reply to this commentamazing, an improvement: being able to change the dot size
Reply to this commentThis is so much fun!
Reply to this commentFirst comment!
On a serious note, this is freaking amazing. I saw this once somewhere, and lost it . Thanks for reinventing genius!
Reply to this commentFor the first version I wanted this to keep as simple as possible, therefore no spawn adding and just one dot size. Maybe in a future version.
Reply to this commentThat would be the Falling Sand game. Still awesome to see in JS, but I kinda wish you could add more spawns or change the particle size.
