From the Author:
Dots, the Game, was written by Nicolas Smith and Aviv Keshet. We are
Physics PhD students at MIT, with an unhealthy appreciation for video
games.
Dots is written in pure javascript, the graphics use HTML5's new
Canvas drawing feature, and the audio is done with HTML5 audio tags.
The game was loosely inspired by Lemmings, but with more of a physics
sandbox feel.
Technology:
JavaScript, HTML5 audio, canvas

Reply to this commentSorry for the multiple posts. I thought the submit button not working since my browser didt respond..
Reply to this commentAt last I have completed all the levels. Very nice game by the way. However, i think you should change the gesture for the force which pulls behind objects and pulls the forward one. Because at higher levels my whirlwind force turns into the pull&push force with a slight movement of mouse. It really turned me mad :( Keep up the good work..

Reply to this commentThis experiment is temporarily non-functional -- our cheap and crappy hosting (justhost.com) got pulled after a spike in traffic. Will be back within a few days in some form, I hope.
Reply to this commentGreat game, two ideas: A speed up button, Some way to save. Mabye a password for each level?
Reply to this commentThanks Zach. There is a speed up button if you activate Sandbox Mode. As for saving -- the game using HTML5's "local storage" feature to remember the highest level you have reached. So if you get to a certain point, then quit and return later from the same computer+browser, you can select which level you want to go to with the "Level: ______" button in the upper left.
Reply to this commentExcellent, excellent concept and beautifully executed. It's definitely a challenge in some spots, and my Wacom helps a lot. :)
Reply to this commentReal thing.
Reply to this commentSimply amazing, congratz. And all musics are on source code, just look and find.
Reply to this commentBy request we have now included a widget with links to the game music on amazon mp3. Thanks for all the comments!

Reply to this commentNone of the "Assign attractor to selected dot" keystrokes work. It just freezes everything.
Reply to this commentSorry for the double post. Stupid crappy comment system doesn't tell you if you successfully posted.
Reply to this commentThe Assign attractor to selected dot function still jams the game. Please try fixing this problem again.
Thanks for reporting the bug! It's fixed now.
I can't get past level 9; what do you do?
Reply to this commentfun game, beat it, though not to easily.. btw on atleast 1 level if u increase the speed it gives u 4 green dots instead of 3
Reply to this commentlevel 14: Threading a needle, the blue dot went around the vertical walls!
Reply to this commentBrilliant idea. Finished the game. Create more levels!
Reply to this commentWow, great game! I'm stuck on level 22 at the moment, I just can't figure it out.
Reply to this commentuse the line loop move move it actually sucks the green dot to the other side
Reply to this commentuse the ---@---- move it actually sucks the green dot to the other side ;)
Reply to this commentOoops, I accidentally the whole thing.
Reply to this commentI also really stuck at level 22. I start with yellow and try leapfrogging in two circles over the left side, but the radius is not big enough. I think I do not know a special move in this game, so plz give me a hint, but not the perfect solution. Email: swish (at) gmx.org. Other players might solve it by themselves. Thank you!
level 7 has an apparently accidental "short cut" that makes the first two dots completely unnecessary, FYI.
Reply to this commentVery cool concept. I was experimenting with a similar concept for a game when I did my particle system. :)
