Reply to this commentAnd what exactly is so awesome bout this ? Geometry has been around for thousand of years so do circles , etc ! Definitely not cute .
Reply to this commentMy compliments and congratulations to the people who created this. So much about computer-based "fun" is self-servingly bland; Bomomo is inspiring and -- for lack of a better phrase -- wonderfully trippy. I agree with "mel" -- this is not cute. Kittens are cute. This, instead, is elegant and -- again -- inspired.

Reply to this commentLooks great....some of the controls or whatever are placed automatically at the center when the cursor or mouse moves slightly away from the drawing region.....settings should be able to tolerate minimum error.

Reply to this commentit is. i love chrome and the experiment
Reply to this commentI cant seem to do anything in it either. All buttons are clickable, but dragging, single clicking, double clicking, centre clicking and right clicking inside the white area seem to do nothing.. Chrome 1.0.154.36 on XP-SP3
Reply to this commentUpgrade to Chrome 2.0 by going to the Wrench in the upper-right corner, then clicking "About Chrome" then clicking update.
Reply to this commentWorks now.. Thank you.
This is amazing!! Kudos!!
Reply to this commentDoesn't work with Chrome for me, but works fine with Firefox 3.0... Tons of JavaScript errors in Chrome: 300x "Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=... from frame with URL http://bomomo.com/. Domains, protocols and ports must match." then "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'frames' of null http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/expansion_embed.js (line 34)"
Reply to this commentSeems to be fixed.

Reply to this commentWow, what a work of poetry. Won't ever pick up an etch a sketch again!! lol I would like to ask if you could add a remark to the boxes as you cursor over them so that one knows what this change will do. Loved it.

Reply to this commentThis ought to have an API so that people can make their own plugin brushes and easily implement them... also needs color selection tools. That would be truly powerful.
Oh, and maybe support for interpolating extra frames for fast-moving objects, so that you can have smoother lines if you wish?
Reply to this commentThis is amazing. Microsoft Paint just got pwned. :D
Reply to this commentchrome v 1.0.154.53 -- I cannot make a picture :( re-visited site using firefox, works great. On chrome the tools did not launch. My grandkid's love the site!
Reply to this commentLooks like it requires Chrome 2.0 (beta).
Reply to this commentDidn't work for me. I am using Firefox (latest version).
Reply to this commentThis is just cool! I didn't know, that Javascript can edit bitmaps...
Reply to this commentThis this is awesome!
Reply to this commentthis somehow works better on Firefox...
Reply to this commenthow come some of these expiraments work better for other browsers than the one Google made?
Reply to this commentBecause the people who make these experiments are not the same people who wrote the underlying javascript execution core software stuff. They don't really have inside knowledge about its intricacies, and therefore, the efficiencies of the respective functions.
They test to make sure it works in Chrome 2, and at a reasonably fast pace, and leave the rest of the browsers' performance optimization to chance. Usually, if there's a bug that makes the experiment completely dysfunctional in a browser, they will try to make a fix for it (such as the Flash version of this one, to give IE users something to fool with), but they don't really mess with it if it's just going slow.

Reply to this commentDoes not work for me either. I'm using Chrome 1.0.154.53
Reply to this commentIt doesn't seem to work at all for me. I'm running chrome, and the canvas remains blank. the cursor turns into a word processing type cursor on the canvas, but nothing appears. Anybody else experience that?
Reply to this commentI noticed the same thing, using Chrome 1.0.154.53
Reply to this commentWHY doesn't this WORK?!?!?
You need Chrome 2.0
Could you please contact me at info@blogoscoped.com and tell me your exact Chrome version? Perhaps we can find out what's going on.
Reply to this commentStunning code, best one I've seen so far, great work.

Reply to this commentUnusable (slow) with Ubuntu LTS, FF 3.0.7, AMD 3500+
Reply to this commentUsable (fast) with Ubuntu 8.10, FF 3.0.7, Intel 2140.
Btw, "Ubuntu LTS" doesn't mean anything. You have to put the version number and/or the name, for example "Ubuntu 8.4 Hardy Heron", which I guess is your case.
Reply to this commentlol like anyone cares
Reply to this commentlol like the developers care
developers need to get there head out of there ass!!!
COOL!!! Действительно очень круто! креатифф!!!
Reply to this commentUmmm..... saving only works in firefox, according to the applet.
Reply to this commentSaving now works in Chrome too...
Reply to this commentI thought this was written for Chrome specifically and yet one can't save a drawing unless one uses Firefox?! strange..
Reply to this commentActually it works on several browsers and was not specifically created for just one browser. Last time I checked, Chrome was running it fastest, though. The one browser really causing troubles was IExplorer due to lack of Canvas support...
Reply to this commentSaving now works in Chrome too!
Hey -- you guys should try setting the context's lineWidth to a sub-pixel value -- like 0.5 ... This was you get nicer, thinner looking lines. For example: http://alinear.net/index2.html/
Reply to this commentLOVE IT! I played with this for a hour and can't stop! Yey!!!!
Reply to this commentWow, absolutely love it, and it works flawlessly in Chrome of course. My only (minor) complaint is that the brushes reset if the cursor goes outside the canvas, any way to make them keep on working along the edges regardless of mouse position?
Reply to this commentThanks for the feedback, we'll consider it!
Reply to this commentFor IE, did you try using excanvas (excanvas.sourceforge.net) which uses svg to implement a canvas in ie (might be easier than flash)
Reply to this commentYeah, I did, but Excanvas was much too slow -- it was getting slower with every new line being drawn. There was no such speed slow down in Canvas, I guess the difference is whether or not the drawn stuff is treated as objects vs simply being pushed onto the same bitmap (once drawn). I used Excanvas for static images before but until it may perhaps be changed to be faster, wouldn't consider it for animation again.
Reply to this commentNo its not!!!!!
no problems with Opera 9.64.
Reply to this commentYeah, only for IExplorer we had to program a complete alternative fallback in Flash. C'mon IExplorer, support Canvas already :)
