“3 Dreams of Black” takes you on a journey through three dream worlds constructed through a combination of rich 2D drawings and animations interwoven with interactive 3D sequences. Throughout various points in these dream worlds, you can grab your mouse and guide the protagonist’s point of view through the experience. This music experience also includes a 3D model creator that allows you to create your own relics and contribute to the shared collective dream. “3 Dreams of Black” is written and directed by Chris Milk, and developed with a few folks here at Google.

The generateMipMap error seems to happen the most. During the video itself I mostly only see a white or black screen with some graphical fuzz in the bottom-left corner.

There was soo much to focus on with this experiment, my eyes constantly kept getting blurry. It's absolutely amazing.

Reply to this commentThis was wonderful! I had a lot of fun playing this. The artwork was also quite beautiful. At the end, I loved making the models. I chose to do Enderman and the Reddit alien. :)

Reply to this commentAbsolutely spectacular idea, music, technology, execution and performance. I'm running on an i7 with 8GB RAM and it flew perfectly, but I can see how this could easily bog down another machine. If you ever get an opportunity to see this in full and in fluid motion, do so -- truly spectacular. My congratulations and admiring to the artists who created this -- as a web developer and 3D designer, I can't wait to look at the code!

Reply to this commentIt was alright, but on google chrome, it was REALLY REALLY slow to load. It took at least 3 minutes for me, and once I was finally let on, it lagged like craze. Also, I think that you should add a main menu button in the free-roam thing at the end of the video.

I wonder how recreating Loren Carpenter's audience participation Pong game would work using this tech. Better than stereoscopic 3D!

Reply to this commentJust love this "one color per polygon" world. This technology( that can seem old compared to modern real time 3D...it reminds me of starfox and virtua racing ) is very interesting used this way. :-)
